Highlights of the year
In the academic year 2022–23, AMIS took firm and concrete steps towards its ideal of enabling students to manifest their potential not only in academics but also in sports, cultural activities and the development of leadership qualities.
External exams: AMIS students participated in 15 different external exams.
Co-curricular activities: drawing and painting, yoga, creative writing, English elocution, Hindi elocution, extempore and poetry recitation competitions; inter-house chess, volleyball and basketball competitions; and the Annual Sports Meet.
Celebrations: all religious and cultural festivals and the birth and death anniversaries of great personalities – including Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, International Yoga Day, Ramzan Eid, World Population Day, Ashadhi Ekadashi, Guru Purnima, Independence Day, Teachers' Day, World Literacy Day, Pola, Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti, Reading Inspiration Day, Dussehra, Guru Nanak Jayanti, World AIDS Day, Christmas and Savitribai Phule Jayanti.
Internal examinations: periodic tests, pre- and post-periodic tests, weekly tests, three preliminary exams and ten practice tests for Grade X.
Achievements
Saily Gangurde and Sharvari Gaikwad won gold in the Taluka Wrestling Championship.
Phad V. won gold at district level in rifle shooting.
Chaitanya Hire won silver and Mayur Hadole bronze in the district speed skating tournament.
Vaishnavi Bhamre won silver in the district fencing tournament.
Omkar Dombe won gold in the Run for Diabetes Marathon organised by Lions Club Kopargaon.
Vaishnavi Bhamre and Piyush Pawar played the State Soft Tennis Tournament in Mumbai and were selected for the Nationals.
Shivraj Inamdar and Yash More represented AMIS at the South Zone rifle shooting event in Hyderabad.
Sakshi Pawar, Vrinda Mali and Ridhima Tiwari represented the CBSE Nationals in gymnastics at Allahabad.
Manglesh Nimbal, Viraj Ubale, Omkar Dombe and Vishnu Jadhav took part in the National Science Olympiad Young Scientist Conclave 2018 at Amrita University, Tamil Nadu – one of only 47 projects selected nationwide – and received a prize and certificate.
Aryan Gosavi and Prashant Londhe were selected for the district level of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan, organised by Vigyan Bharati.
Pranav Somase was selected for the Maharashtra State grand finale of the SkySciQ Quiz on bird conservation.
Vivek Chavan qualified for the second level of the SOF Science Olympiad.
